The Orange Bison mini tote is a limited-edition bag constructed of American-made Bison leather. Bison leather is often thicker than cowhide, and is known for its rugged durability and rustic look. (Quick disclaimer: This isn't the tote for you if you want a pristine look!)

Orange Bison is soft and slouchy, with the big grain and pebbled texture we typically associate with Bison leather. It has dramatic pull-up, the characteristic that enables the leather to lighten in areas of wear and stress, and will acquire a patina unique to you and the way you carry your leather tote. Imperfections such as range marks, small scratches, occasional insect bites, and folds in the leather are natural characteristics of all full-grain leather, including Bison leather. 

Each mini tote features handles (meant for carrying the tote by hand, not on your shoulder), and you can add an optional, detachable shoulder or crossbody strap made of coordinating belting-weight leather. This style comes standard with a brass snap closure. Inside each mini tote, you'll find an interior pocket on one side, and a strap for your sunglasses and keys on the other. 

+ HOW IT'S MADE

It takes a lot of steps to make a leather tote by hand, whether that tote is a standard or mini size! We always start with a hide of beautiful, full-grain leather. Our team inspects every hide to choose the perfect one to use for the body of your bag. Next, we cut the handles and optional crossbody strap out of 10-ounce belting leather, which will break in beautifully (and stand up to years and years of use). We sew the side seams of the tote on an industrial machine.

Then, we hand-set the handles, pocket, and interior strap with a total of 12 copper rivets. Finally, we add a solid brass snap closure, and, if you'd like, an adjustable (and detachable) crossbody strap fitted with solid brass hardware. You can take the crossbody strap on and off of your mini tote, and the trigger snaps at the end of the strap clip onto brass grommets hidden inside the tote. (When the crossbody strap isn't on the bag, you can't even tell it was there!)

Every KMM & Co. leather tote bag will become what you make it. If you want a leather tote that will look exactly the same after a year of heavy use, then this isn’t the bag for you. But if you want a tote that will acquire a patina unique to you and the way you use it, this may be the one.
