Grey Kodiak carryall leather tote bag

Hello, Carryalls! FAQs About our Biggest Leather Tote Bag

It's Fall, and something BIG is launching! Our largest leather tote bag, the Carryall, is back and better than ever in our bestselling Kodiak leathers!

We've gotten a lot of questions about this gorgeous tote. So we've added a lot of answers (and just as many photos!) below.

Brown Kodiak carryall, tote, mini tote

How big is the carryall?

The carryall is our large leather tote bag: It's bigger than our standard tote and our mini tote. The carryall is 15 inches tall and 16.5 inches wide, with a 6-inch gusset. And its two exterior pockets each measure 14 inches by 10.5 inches. (So there's plenty of space to carry everything you need on your busiest day – or even for a weekend away from home!)

The photo above shows a Brown Kodiak carryall, a Brown Kodiak tote, and a Brown Kodiak mini tote so that you can see what they look like side-by-side.

Carryall leather tote bags handle lengths

What length are the handles?

We've traditionally made the carryall with 9-inch handles. But we've heard from customers who would prefer a longer drop length, and others who need a shorter drop length. So for our Kodiak carryalls, we're offering three handle options: 7 inches, 9 inches, and 11 inches. All of these drop lengths cost the same, and the handle length does not affect the carryall's eligibility for return or exchange.

The photo above shows carryalls with the 7-inch, 9-inch, and 11-inch drop lengths, photographed on a 5'3" model. (We chose her because the average American woman is 5'4"!)

Is the carryall structured or slouchy?

For the Fall 2020 collection, we're making carryalls in our bestselling Kodiak leathers. Kodiak leathers are soft and slouchy, with a luxurious pebbled texture and beautiful color variation. The handles are made of belting-weight leather to stand up to a lifetime of daily use.

A carryall is a more structured bag than a tote made of the same leather due to its construction – the gusset and the two exterior pockets add extra layers of leather at each seam. However, the Kodiak carryalls are still quite slouchy, and feel soft and comfortable against the body.

How is a carryall made?

We're so glad you asked! Like all of our leather tote bags and accessories, the carryall is completely handmade and made to order in our Atlanta studio. First, we cut the pieces of the bag and prepare them for assembly. The pockets get stitched on first, and then we construct the gusset. Next, we stitch the gusset onto the bag, and turn the whole thing right-side-out. Then we cut the handles and attach them to the body of the bag.

Check out our behind-the-scenes photos if you'd like to know what this process looks like!

Can I order a carryall in another color?

For Fall 2020, we're only making carryalls out of Kodiak leathers. On October 23, carryalls will be available for purchase in Tan, Brown, Black, Grey, and Navy Kodiak.

You can special-order a carryall in Red, Purple, or Olive Kodiak by emailing hello@kmmco.com. We're not taking custom orders for carryalls in any other leathers right now.

When will my carryall ship?

Like all of our leather tote bags and accessories, carryalls are handmade and made to order. They are the most labor-intensive bag that we offer, so a carryall can take up to six weeks to ship. When you order a carryall, it will be made to order just for you.

Everything ships directly from our Atlanta studio – no warehouses or mass-produced items here! – and we promise that it's worth the wait.
