Each one is meticulously crafted from heavyweight canvas and gorgeous full-grain leather. Navy Canvas is a type of cotton canvas known as duck cloth. It's one of the most durable types of cloth, and it's structured enough to stand up on its own. The Navy Canvas East West Panel Tote comes standard with Tan handles and a Cognac Cypress bottom panel. Like every KMM & Co. accessory, a canvas panel tote or mini panel tote is handmade and made to order. (No warehouses, no factories, just a small studio in downtown Atlanta!) Each canvas panel tote or mini panel tote takes up to 4 weeks for us to make and ship — but it's worth the wait, we promise!

How the canvas panel tote and mini panel tote get made
Each bag is handmade in the USA (at the KMM & Co studio in Atlanta)! It all starts at the cutting table, where we cut each panel of your tote by hand. We hand-pick the perfect hide of leather for the bottom panel, considering its color, grain, character, markings, and structure. We cut the cotton canvas body of the bag in a single piece, serging its edges so that they can't unravel. The entire inside of the bag is canvas, so that the interior is neat and uniform.
Next, the canvas and leather panels of the tote go to one of our sewing stations, where the top edges of the bag are carefully hemmed for a beautiful finish. Then, the leather bottom of the bag is meticulously stitched to the canvas with a durable and beautiful double topstitch. We then stitch the side seams of the bag, backstitching to lock them in.
Finally, we hand-set copper rivets to form the gusset of the bag, and another eight to attach the handles (which are hand-cut in the color and length of your choice) and the interior pocket and strap.
Each tote is made to be indestructible, and for the entire life of the bag, we'll gladly repair it in the unlikely event that something goes wrong with the materials or craftsmanship.

How much does a KMM & Co. canvas panel tote or mini panel tote hold?
The canvas panel tote is the perfect bag for work, school, the weekend, and beyond. It can comfortably fit a 13-inch MacBook, a book, a notebook, snacks, a water bottle, a large wallet, zip pouches, a makeup bag – just about anything you carry everyday. The canvas mini panel tote is great for days you want to travel a little lighter: It can comfortably carry your tablet, a book, your wallet, your phone, and other essentials — and still have room for snacks!
What handle length will be most comfortable for me?
The drop length that's best for you depends on personal preference and body type. We recommend measuring the handles on a bag you already own (and messaging us!) if you're unsure. 7-inch handles are the most popular for the tote, followed by 10-inch handles. 5-inch handles are standard for carrying a mini tote by hand, while longer drop lengths are suited for carrying the bag on your shoulder.
Should I choose Cypress or Kodiak?
While we love every leather in the KMM & Co. collection, Cypress and Kodiak are two of our favorite tannages! Kodiak is an oil-tanned leather that's a great choice if you prefer a leather with pull-up (the tendency to lighten in areas of wear of stress). Cypress has a slouchier temper and a more pronounced pebbled grain than Kodiak. Both are soft and comfortable to carry, and they wear in beautifully with age and use.
What kind of markings should I expect with full-grain leather?
Full-grain leather retains all of its original grain and character, including any imperfections. You might see range marks, grain variations, small spots or scratches, folds, or color variation. They're all a beautiful part of the leather's natural character.
