What makes KMM & Co. special?
Things customers love about KMM & Co. leather belts:
1. Gorgeous full-grain Bridle leather
Each belt is cut from a hide of beautiful Bridle leather: an 8 to 10-ounce leather built to withstand a lifetime of everyday wear. This heirloom-quality leather is gorgeous straight out of the box and just gets better with age: Over the years, it will develop a patina that's unique to you and reminds you of where you've been.
2. Comfortable (and beautiful) finished edges
At KMM & Co., we're all about doing things the old-school way. For belts, that means that every edge is painstakingly beveled, burnished, and waxed. All that extra work is worth it because it makes the belt feel and look finished: smooth to the touch and without a stark color difference between the face of the belt and its edges.
3. Your choice of brass or nickel hardware
Since every belt is handmade and made to order in our Atlanta studio (just like every KMM & Co. accessory), you get to decide how you want it to look. The buckle and double-cap rivets can be either solid brass or nickel hardware — so you can pick the one that matches your style.
A leather belt seems simple, but it takes time to get the details exactly right: We had to source the perfect Bridle leather, find beautiful hardware in both nickel and brass, and get the fit just right across our size range. Beautiful design and heirloom craftsmanship just take time — and all that time is more than worth it to craft a belt you'll wear for decades.

How to find the perfect belt size:
KMM & Co.'s leather belts are sized in inches, measured from the point where the belt folds over the buckle to the middle of the belt's seven holes. Here's what we recommend to get a perfect fit.
If you have a belt at home: Measure your belt from the point where it folds over the buckle to the hole you've used most. If the number is even, that's your belt size! If the number is odd, add one so you have an even number. Then that's the size belt you'll want to order.
If you don't have a belt, or if you don't have a measuring tape: No worries! Just take a look at your pants size and add two. (For example, if you wear a size 36 in your favorite jeans or pants, then order a 38-inch belt.)
If you have any questions about sizing or measuring: Let us know! We're always available at hello@kmmco.com and can help you figure out the perfect size for a belt for you or for someone you love.
"Our belts are guaranteed to hold your pants up, and to look damn good doing it!"

How the leather belt gets made
Each leather belt is handmade in the USA from start to finish! First, we use an industrial strap cutter — the same kind that saddle makers traditionally use— to cut a hide of Bridle leather into belt-width strips (either 1.25 inches or 1.5 inches). Then, we select the perfect strip and cut your belt to length.
Next, we finish the edges of the belt. We bevel, burnish, and wax the edges, all by hand. That way, your belt feels smooth to the touch and looks perfectly finished (and ready to dress up or dress down). We also reduce the thickness of the leather at the buckle end of the belt by skiving it — another task accomplished with an industrial machine that's been produced the same way for many decades!
Then, we cut, burnish, wax, and staple the leather loop that forms the belt's keeper. We install the buckle, affixing it permanently to the belt with matching double-cap rivets. Finally, we punch seven holes in the belt so that you can find the perfect fit no matter which pair of pants you wear. As a finishing touch, we blind-emboss the KMM & Co. logo — and with that, your heirloom-quality belt is ready to go!

Ask away! FAQs about the leather belt
How should I decide between a 1.25-inch and 1.5-inch belt?
While a quarter-inch difference in width doesn't sound like a lot, it's enough to change the look and feel of the belt! The right width for you is a matter of personal preference. If it helps, we've always thought of a 1.5-inch belt as a work belt because of its larger proportions — but style is individual! A narrower belt will look and feel a bit lighter, while. a wider belt will look and feel a bit heavier. But both widths have the same traditional craftsmanship and heirloom-quality materials — which work well with everyone's style.
What if I need a longer or shorter belt?
No problem, we're happy to make a belt in a size that's not listed (or to help you figure out exactly which size you need)! Just send us an email at hello@kmmco.com and we'll get all the details sorted out.
What kinds of markings can I expect with full-grain leather?
Full-grain leather retains all of its original grain and character, including any imperfections. You might see range marks, grain variations, small spots or scratches, folds, or color variation. They're all a beautiful part of the leather's natural character.
